GGGGestalt Therapy is a constant work in progress. The embodiment of the human experience - its perceptions, choices and interactions - it's continually evolving, changing and vigilantly discarding obsolete ideologies in exchange for more pertinent ones.
Although the word gestalt means to complete, Gestalt Therapy won't ever be complete in a conventional sense of the word. Embodying this contradiction, it conveys the idea that the forever dynamic human experience can never quite be summed up by a rigid, abstract philosophy. Therefore, Gestalt must be as flexible and dynamic as the human experience it strives to define.
It tells us that our experience at this very moment is the only thing that's complete. The tangible is all that matters. We ARE HERE right NOW. It stresses that reality should supersede the abstract, therefore giving the very reason for why Gestalt Therapy seems so vague and unfinished. It doesn't waste time analyzing, obsessing and interpreting because that would take us away from the very thing it stresses ó the moment, our surroundings, our emotions and our bodiessss |
